A single blue sodalite macaw — one of only two solo bird pieces in the collection — commands an amethyst geode with quiet authority. Without a companion, every detail of the carving is exposed: the layered wing feathers, the obsidian beak, the gold claws gripping the crystal edge.
The amethyst geode is a natural heart-shaped formation — unplanned, discovered during extraction. Fabiano placed the macaw at its peak, where the crystals are darkest and most densely packed. The bird looks over its shoulder, as though aware it is being watched.
"A solo bird has nowhere to hide. Every flaw shows. That is why I save my best stone for the ones who stand alone."
— FABIANO · MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL
