The Origin
Two clear quartz parrots with ruby-red eyes and copper-toned tail feathers — the most jewel-like detailing in the collection — perch on an amethyst cluster surrounded by gold leaf. The ruby eyes are actual gemstone insets, not carved quartz, giving the birds a startlingly lifelike gaze.
The gold leaf scattered in the photography represents the actual gold-toned mica inclusions visible in the amethyst cluster beneath the birds. This piece was designed to catch and amplify every available photon of light — the clear quartz bodies act as prisms, the amethyst as reflector, the gold as warmth.
