Two clear quartz parrots with amethyst crystal crowns guard a large amethyst geode — the largest geode base in the entry tier. The crowns are not carved but grown: natural amethyst crystal points that Fabiano left on top of each bird's head during the carving process.
The geode beneath is a double-chamber formation — two connected cavities of crystal, like lungs. The birds' clear quartz bodies let light pass through to the geode surface, creating a layered visual depth.
"I left the crowns because the stone grew them. Who am I to remove what the earth decided to give?"
