Iron-rich red jasperThe jasper used carries a high iron-oxide content — responsible for the deep burgundy-to-terracotta color shift under different light conditions. This vein is no longer in active use.

Cathedral white quartz baseThe base is an unpolished cathedral fragment — raw, asymmetric, and deliberately chosen for the tension it creates against the smooth-carved birds.

Individually scored feathersEach primary and secondary feather is individually scored by hand. Under close inspection, no two are identical — a level of detail that photography cannot convey.

Garnet eye inlayThe eyes are inlaid garnet — a stone chosen for its deep red that reads as alive under light. They are set, not painted. They will not fade.

The vein used for the Scarlet series was sourced from Minas Gerais and has since been exhausted. The Crimson Duo is made from the final material of that extraction.
